Storm for a Cause

Storm for a Cause

We are always looking for ways to improve and make a difference, not just in ourselves, but also for those around us, our family, friends, and communities.

We want to extend our pursuit of improvement to a broader community, and as such, we will be donating 10% of all proceeds through the end of the year to a few cancer research and support groups. What originally started as just an October initiative, we felt this was too important to limit to just one month.

Cancer impacts all of us, whether directly, through family members, or through friends; we can all support one another and the broader community.

We all have personal experiences that have shaped us, and that's what drives this initiative.

Ben lost his Mom in 2021 to colon cancer. To say her diagnosis was out of left field would be an understatement. While her loss was a significant blow to him and his family, it has served him as a daily reminder that tomorrow is not guaranteed and that he should not take any moment for granted. He continues to pursue extreme physical challenges (running 48 miles in 48 hours, the burpee mile – twice, jiu-jitsu competitions) to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research and support.

Lee's mom is a breast cancer survivor. And continues to be the "best mom and Bebe a guy and her grandkids could ask for. Love you, Momma."

Todd has also experienced cancer within his own family; losing loved ones, supporting those currently in the fight, and celebrating both his mom and mother-in-law who have beat cancer. This cause has always been deeply personal for him.

For the better part of a decade, he has channeled that drive into educating the medical community and increasing appropriate utility of hereditary cancer diagnostic and molecular residual disease (MRD) testing to help clinical teams catch cancer earlier and achieve better outcomes. He has also dedicated time to volunteering with nonprofits - Surf for the Cure, Race for the Cure, The Bra-ha-ha - focused on raising funds to support those in his community valiantly fighting, and supporting The American Cancer Society’s mission of eliminating cancer.

While our paths have been slightly different and continue to evolve, the mission remains, and we all remain grateful and hungry to find new ways to turn personal purpose into positive impact.

With that in mind, we have selected the following charities:

Susan G. Komen is a leading breast cancer nonprofit dedicated to saving lives through research, patient support, advocacy, and expanded access to high-quality breast cancer care.

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit dedicated to ending colorectal cancer through patient and family support, screening and prevention, advocacy, and research.

Team Pisco is a family-led cancer initiative supporting life-saving research at Dana-Farber while helping South Shore MA families in active treatment with everyday needs like groceries, transportation, and household expenses.

Provides free outdoor adventure programs for young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions, using activities such as climbing, surfing, kayaking, and hiking to build confidence, community, and emotional resilience.
