What we believe

We believe in hard work, grit, persistence, and the pursuit of a meaningful and fulfilled life. Achieving that fulfillment requires intention and requires a willingness to step out of comfort and into adversity. To us, unearned comfort is anathema.

This is not about achievement or winning, but rather this is about doing the thing. Taking the risk. Embracing the challenge. Welcoming it without trepidation. And finding joy and contentment in taking action. This is a pursuit of passion.

We believe that, by testing ourselves daily in pursuit of the storm, we become our best selves so that we can show up better for ourselves and for others.

Eventually, we plan to offer superior training gear for all of your pursuits, whether in the water, snow, on the mats, or in the gym. Who we are

Lee

Point Break obsessed and Founder of The 50-Year Storm.

Like most people, I’m constantly navigating the balance between family, work, responsibility, and trying to make the most of this one life. I’ve always found clarity in the mountains and feel most free in the ocean.

The 50-Year Storm came from that pursuit—the idea of chasing the things that make you feel alive, even when life gets busy and the world tells you to play it safe.

Always chasing the next wave, the next adventure, and the moments that remind me why we’re here. With my family and friends by my side. Vaya.

Ben

Co-founder and CMO. Responsible for content, design, and aesthetics for 50-Year Storm.

I love to explore the edge of what most people believe is common and then go beyond that. As a 40+ year old single father I love to smash expectations in hopes to inspire, and challenge, those around me. Whether that's my friends, competition on the jiu jitsu mats, dudes at the playground, my children or the kids I coach.

Growth and comfort do not coexist and I try to embrace, and share, that mindset every day.

Todd

Chief Operating Officer and lifelong wave chaser. Pointed toward Australia to study abroad in pursuit of the next great swell. Todd has always been drawn to the adventure ahead, whether finding flow in the lineup or chasing it down the mountain--he's always after that feeling. These days. he's paying it forward through adaptive surf events and coastal conservation while teaching his kids to chase adventure, protect what they love, and spread the stoke for generations to come.

Mike

Mike is The 50 Year Storm's Chief Commercial Officer and lifelong board-riding enthusiast. Whether chasing waves in the ocean or carving down a mountain, he's always searching for that one perfect ride and an empty peak to share with a few good friends. Mike brings the stoke wherever he goes, creating space for laughter, connection, and unplugged moments with family and friends, both in and out of the water.
